Circular economy

Make use. Redesign. Reuse. Recycle. Renew.

Macen Wrapping and Packaging Corp. — LIMA operates a PEZA- and DENR-approved recycling facility. We collect plastic waste from customer plants, process it, and return it to production as graded resin and recycled bags.

Follow the material round the loop

Select a stage to see how plastic moves between virgin supplier, Macen, customer and end user — and comes back as recycled feedstock.

Virgin supplier

Prime LDPE and HDPE resin enters the process from accredited suppliers — companies like Sabic, Inabata and Ravago-backed partners in our supply network. This is the baseline material for applications that need near-virgin clarity and consistency.

  • Prime resin for critical, appearance-sensitive film
  • Balanced with recycled feedstock to reduce virgin demand

Process flow of scrap pick-up

From your plant floor to new resin

A documented five-stage recovery route, so your environmental team always knows where the material went.

  1. 01

    Plastic waste

Film trims, liners and packaging waste generated at the customer plant.

  2. 02

    Pick-up by Macen

Scheduled collection from your facility by our own logistics team.

  3. 03

    Send to our factory

Material is delivered to the approved facility at Lima Technology Center.

  4. 04

    Melting & shredding

Sorted, shredded and melted into a consistent melt stream.

  5. 05

    Re-pelletized resin / recycled bag

Uniform pellets — or finished recycled bags — ready to re-enter production.

Re-pelletized resin

Four classes, four use cases

Re-pelletized resin is plastic processed from scrap or waste into small, uniform pellets, then reused in manufacturing — the same way virgin plastic pellets are used. We grade our output so you can match quality to application.

Class APremium

Class A recycled resin is the highest quality, with very clear, uniform pellets and minimal contamination. It is suitable for applications that require good appearance, consistency, and near-virgin performance.

Class BGeneral purpose

Class B recycled resin has slight color variation and minor impurities but remains clean and consistent overall. It is ideal for general-purpose products where aesthetics are less critical but strength and reliability are still important.

Class CIndustrial

Class C recycled resin shows noticeable discoloration and more variation in pellet shape and clarity. It is commonly used for non-critical or industrial applications where visual quality is not a priority.

Class DUtility

Class D recycled resin has the highest level of discoloration and contamination among the classes. It is best suited for low-grade applications, fillers, or products where appearance and precision are not required.

Extended Producer Responsibility

EPR under Republic Act 11898

Large enterprises are now required to recover the plastic packaging they put on the market. As an approved recycling facility, we help customers turn that obligation into a documented, working recovery stream.

  1. 01

    Mandatory compliance

Requires large enterprises with assets exceeding ₱100 million to comply with the law, as failure to do so will result in penalties.

  2. 02

    Product coverage

The program focuses on plastic packaging materials, covering both rigid and flexible plastics.

  3. 03

    Actionable measures

Companies are expected to implement concrete measures to reduce plastic waste, including recovery, recycling and proper disposal initiatives.

  4. 04

    Compliance mechanism

Compliance may be carried out individually or collectively through accredited Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs).

  5. 05

    Registration

Companies are required to register their EPR programs with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB).

How we help

Recovery with documentation

We collect your post-industrial flexible plastic, process it at our approved facility, and provide the recovery records your EPR filing needs.

Our commitment

Plastic is too useful to waste

We do not position recycling as an add-on service. It is core capacity: an approved facility, a graded product line, and a standing offer to take back the material we sold you.
